January 4, 2021, Baton Rouge, La.

It’s been 15 years since the original Bistro Byronz swung open its black French doors at 5412 Government Street with a big welcome back from its origins in Mid City as Byronz Sandwich Shop on S. Eugene and Government in the 1980s. And now, the Byronz Restaurant Family LLC Operating Group has set its sights on a new location in the burgeoning neighborhood, with plans to move its flagship bistro to a new, redesigned space at the former White Star Market at Square 46.

Emelie Alton, CEO of Byronz Restaurant Family LLC said “Since we opened and helped ignite the Mid-City area’s growth, the neighborhood and market has become even more dynamic, and we have also grown and learned from challenges we are all facing together in these unprecedented times. Now, we see the opportunity to bring together the best parts of Bistro Byronz that people have come to know and love with fresh ideas focused on our loyal patrons in an updated new location that meets the needs and expectations of today’s restaurant customers––from eat in, to take-out, to delivery, to indoor and outdoor dining options. We’re thrilled to partner with the folks at Square 46 to bring new life and the new Bistro Byronz spirit to their space.”

The group, which most recently introduced Pizza Byronz at Willow Grove, is known for its unique, Louisiana bistro fare and experience and is deeply rooted in a commitment to being an integral part of the diverse neighborhoods they serve. Sam Kantrow, the group’s Creative Director, said “ We are driven to create welcoming experiences that have a nostalgic, but modernized design aesthetic with certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ where people and families of all kinds can come together to enjoy the food and ambiance.”

Bistro Byronz Mid City will welcome guests in their current location for some final good, real good times through January 16th. The group will then focus on the design and build out for the new location. Alton says the group intends to announce more details about the new location and opening date very soon.
